Editing Text Techniques

Editing text isn't just about typing and deleting characters. There are various techniques and shortcuts that can streamline your editing process and make it more efficient. In this guide, we'll explore different text editing techniques and when to use them.

1. Click and Drag

Click and drag is a simple yet powerful technique for selecting and moving text. Click at the beginning of the text you want to select, hold the mouse button, and drag the cursor to the end of the desired selection. You can then cut, copy, or delete the selected text or move it to another location.

2. Click and Shift-Click

Shift click is a handy technique for selecting text between two points. Click at the beginning of the text you want to select, hold down the Shift key, and click at the end point. This highlights the text in between, allowing you to perform various editing operations on the selected portion.

3. Double Click

Double-clicking a word is a quick way to select it. This is useful when you want to format or replace a specific word without selecting the entire sentence or paragraph. Double-clicking can also be used to select file names or folder names in file explorers.

4. Click and Ctrl+Click

Ctrl+click (or Cmd+click on Mac) is a technique used for selecting multiple non-adjacent items.
